Members shall be represented by the Association in putting forward their collective concerns to the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education at district, provincial and national levels.
Members of the Association shall have their leaders and staff undergoing training and development workshops aligned to the new competency based curriculum.
a) This includes understanding the true mandate of the non-government education sector of Zimbabwe and the role played by colleges towards the economic development and emancipation of youths in technological embracement and innovation as well as inventions.
b) True identity of independent colleges and a clear distinction with other groupings in the education system.
c) Appreciation of how to blend the competency based curriculum (vocational and technical skills) with the academic concept.
The Association shall embark on resource mobilisation initiatives on behalf of the Association members. This may include but not limited to engaging the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education and partners in education.
Continuous improvement through peer supervision, advice and networking to establish best practices in the non-government education sector.
Exposure of member colleges’ learners to systematic guidance and counselling sessions, national and international sporting activities; and cultural exchange programmes.
Learner friendly vocational and technical skills training enabling learners to leave the college not only with an academic certificate but vocational skills as well.
Direct participation in the crafting of policies that affect the operations of independent colleges through the Association.

The association shall render financial assistance and any other form of help to its members. The member/s should be full member, fully paid up, biological parents of the full member and his/ her children and not extended children and not extended children or families.
